On Sunday the 25th of November 2013 there was a special service of the Lesotho Evangelical Church in Southern Africa (LECSA) at Scott Hospital in Morija. The day marked the official launch of a fund for doing major renovation and/or rebuilding of the hospital’s maternity and children’s ward. The genesis of this project came from the fact that 2013 marks the 50th birthday of His Majesty King Letsie III who was born at Scott Hospital, a LECSA institution, on 17 July 1963. In his remarks, His Majesty mentioned that he had long dreamed of seeing major improvements made to Scott. He expressed his thanks to the church and to the business community for spearheading the project. It was truly a day of thanksgiving!
Basing his sermon on Leviticus 25:1-7 and Philippians 3:13-14, the LECSA Moderator, Rev. Tseliso Simeon Masemene, spoke of the importance of taking time now and then to reflect on the past and God’s love and care so that we are encouraged to move forward into the future even though there will be unknown challenges to be met. God’s providence in the past will surely continue as we move forward in the ministry of our Lord Jesus Christ.
