The Mohlanapeng Health Centre (MHC) recently received a new Toyota 4×4 vehicle from the Centre’s proprietor, the Lesotho Evangelical Church in Southern Africa (LECSA). The MHC is one of three health institutions of the LECSA, the others being Scott Hospital in Morija and Tebellong Hospital in Tebellong, Qacha’s Nek.
The Mohlanapeng facility has been without transportation for many years and this has affected operations at the clinic. The request for a vehicle suitable for the mountainous area served by MHC was considered by the LECSA Health Commission, LECSA Health Fund Steering Committee and the LECSA Executive Committee. Funding was secured through the LECSA Health Fund.
On the 24th of February of this year, a handover ceremony was held at the Maseru LECSA Sefika church where members of the Executive Committee, Health Fund Steering Committee, Health Commission and MHC and its Board were present.
Mr. Matsobane Putsoa, chairman of the Health Commission, handed the keys over to the LECSA Moderator, Rev. Tseliso Masemene. He, in turn, handed the keys over to the Chairman of the MHC Board, Rev. L. Makutoane.
The church believes this gift will enable the MHC to fulfill the vision of strengthening its members in faith and in physical health.
