The Lesotho Evangelical Church in Southern Africa (LECSA) gathered together on Sunday the 23rd of August 2015 for the ordination of Rev. Refuoe Theresia Rakotsoane. The service was held on the grounds of Liraoeleng LECSA in Maseru where Rev. Rakotsoane has been serving as pastor since graduating from Morija Theological Seminary in May of 2012. Liraoeleng is the newest LECSA parish in Thaba-Bosiu Presbytery and was formed in 2008 from part of Lithabaneng Parish in the suburbs of Maseru.
As is the tradition in the LECSA, the vast majority of the ordained pastors in the denomination gathered together over the weekend for this event which began on Saturday. Sunday’s worship service was led by Rev. Ishmael Lebeko Mokheseng of Phamong Parish in Maphutseng Presbytery, which is the home presbytery of Rev. Rakotsoane who grew up in the LECSA as a member of Maphutseng Parish. Rev. Mokheseng was assisted by Rev. Bernard Mojaki Kometsi, Director of the Morija Theological Seminary. The sermon was preached by the LECSA Moderator Rev. Tseliso Simeon Masemene and based on Micah 6:1-8. Rev. Masemene also administered the oath of ordination. After taking her oath, Rev. Rakotsoane knelt on a reed mat as she was encircled by all the ordained pastors present who extended hands of blessing as she was officially ordained as a minister in the LECSA.
