Lesotho Defence Force Visits Phomolong LECSA for Special Service

On Sunday, 23rd June 2019 Phomlong LECSA hosted a special service of worship to pray with members of the Lesotho Defence Force (LDF) and to celebrate Father’s Day. The Commander of LDF, Lt. General Mojalefa Letsoela, attended as well as many of the LDF’s top ranking officers. LECSA’s Moderator, Rev. Tšeliso Simeone Masemene, and LECSA’s Executive Secretary, Rev. Nelson Khethang Posholi, presided over worship; Rev. Masemene offered the sermon from Exodus 17: 8-16 on “The Lord is my Banner.” Other special guests included the wives of Commander Letsoela and Rev. Masemene, Bishop Daniel Rantle of the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Lesotho, Dr. Mathilde Guidimti from  Communauté d’Églises en Mission or Community of Churches in Mission (CEVAA), members of the Scott Hospital management team, representatives from KEL Radio, and staff from the Executive Secretary’s Office. 

 

Rev. Malikopo Mohlatsane, the Minister of Phomolong LECSA, was invited to visit LDF by the Commander to provide pastoral care to LDF Officers on Tuesday, 18th June 2019 at their barracks. It was out of her visit that they felt they should come to pray with her and the Leadership of LECSA.

Worship began at 9:00AM and concluded at 1:00PM. Prayers for peace, wisdom for Lesotho’s leaders, and prosperity for the nation were offered. Those gathered joined in choruses of thanksgiving and joyous dancing. The children of the congregation delivered sweets to the military leaders and honored the fathers of the local congregation by giving them gifts. The jubilant event served to support and uplift members of the LDF as well as to express gratitude for fathers everywhere.
